In the present experiment, using mink and blue fox fur as the test samples, investigations were conducted on whether an indication of deterioration of fur properties by an artificial degradation treatment could be detected by amino acid analysis.
Light irradation to a degree so as to reduce physical properties of a fur led to a marked reduction in the cystine residues of the fur. Distinct reductions (20-50%) were observed with mink after irradiation for 100 hr, and with fox for 50 hr. Cystine content can possibly be used as a chemical standard for evaluating degradation by light. In that case, expression in a relative value to the valine content will be suitable.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EQTDaJBGZG5kPNLWJTsCTc4-B4VAlEP6/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8080

Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Partially decomposed hair, created during conventional hide processing in the beamhouse, is one of the strongest pollutants in the tannery effluent. One of the approaches that has been taken to reducing the pollution from the unhairing process is to remove intact hair from the hides by using conventional reagents in novel ways that loosen rather than digest the hair. This paper considers the reductive solubilization of recoverde hair from raw hide with the final goal being to utilize it as a bio-material. In the present study, three kinds of solubilizing solutions were tested : 0.1 M thioglycolate at pH 11 35°C (TG-11) , 0.1 M thioglycolate containing 6M guanidine at pH 7 35°C (TG/G-7) and 0.1M thioglyconate containing 6M urea at pH 7 , 35°C (TG/U-7. About 60% of the original hair weight was recovered as the product became solubilized with TG-11. The recovered protein had good solubility in solvent buffer without reducing agent. Approximately the same extent of solubilization was attained with TG/G-7 at neutral pH. The reultant preparation was almost insoluble unless the solvent contained the reducing agent. One the other hand, the extent of solubilization with TG/U-7 was significantly low.
