Titre : Colour acceptance in high solids alkyds Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : John A. Clayton, Auteur ; Denise Harrison, Auteur Année de publication : 1999 Article en page(s) : p. 18-25 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The use of universal colourants in high solids alkyd paint systems can be quite difficult due to poor colour acceptance. In some cases titanium dioxide selection appears to have a minor influence on this property but in itself is not enough to overcome the problem. The most realistic approach to overcoming colour acceptance problems in high solids alkyds appears to be through modification of the colourants to optimise the dispersing/stabilising agents. This would create a more robust product that could still be compatible with other paint systems. Note de contenu : -Various routes to achieve high solids

Titre : Silicones for waterborne wood coatings Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : T. Easton, Auteur ; Angela Cackovich, Auteur Année de publication : 1999 Article en page(s) : p. 26-42 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Silicones have been used as versatile performance enhancing components of solvent-borne wood coatings for many years. In recent years great emphasis has been put on the development of water borne formulations which must match or better the performance of their solvent borne counterparts. Recently modified silicone polymers have been introduced which offer greater compatibility with waterborne wood coatings. Choosing a suitable silicone additive or combination of additives can provide improved surface lubricity, gloss, levelling, blocking and chemical resistance. Titre : Stability of alkyd-acrylic compositions Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Olga A. Kulikova, Auteur ; Eugeny A. Indeikin, Auteur ; Vladimir B. Manerov, Auteur Année de publication : 1999 Article en page(s) : p. 44-50 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : To prepare paint materials by mixing a polymer dispersion and an alkyd emulsion, while these paint materials have the properties of both binders, is possible. But the main problem to solve is to prevent heterocoagulation of combined dispersions. In this article it is shown that aggregate stability of ultraheterogeneous systems which are compositions of acrylic dispersions and alkyd oligomer emulsions, with all other things being equal, is determined both by their ratio and dispersion composition. Note de contenu : - Alkyd emulsions and polymeric dispersions with different benefits
- When equalizing particle size, the probality of collision between particles tend to zero
- Studying the influence of their dispersion composition of the coagulation process
- Determination of the particle size distribution for different ratios
- Large particles found in different aggregate states
- It is necessary to use diuspersions and emulsions close in their disopersion compositionsEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PE0az_mVVJj7PS2Qzvj1vssplUA8QpDo/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=11211

Titre : The problem with fire Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Robert D. Athey, Auteur ; Patricia A. Shaw, Auteur Année de publication : 1999 Article en page(s) : p. 68-74 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Three lawsuits involving fires and the paint industry are described. The threat is real, and must be dealt with in several ways. First of all, there is the lab testing to characterize the threat. Secondly, there are the labelling issues that warn the user. Since common sense does not seem as common as it might, the threat must be dealt with. Note de contenu : - The case of the gasoline storage tank explosion
