Résumé : |
Creating a matt effect in a 100% solid UV-cured coating provides the formulator with considerable difficulty due to inadequate film shrinkage. Despite this, good matting is still achievable, although success depends on the formulation components and mode of curing.
This paper discusses the correlation between UV-curing formulations, application performances together with their potential problems, and solutions associated with the use of silica matting agents. It was found that the type of monomer and organic treatment of the matting agent used were the main effects determining matting efficiency and foam. |
