This is because of the high performance one gets from such coatings such as improved chemical and solvent resistance, mar resistance, weather resistance etc. The paper deals with the fundamentals of polyurethane -- its starting raw materials, the polyurethane reaction including kinetics of reaction and the different types of polyurethane coatings commonly used. The study showed that 20 to 80% fly ash can be utilized in the preparation of cement paint. The paint containing only 20% white cement and 60% fly ash was found to give excellent film properties.
