There have been constant efforts made by the researchers globally to address these aspects by various technologies. The current paper is a review of the technology evolution and key scientific advancements in abatement of toxic compounds and obnoxious odors establishing the significant potential of paints and coatings in positively contributing to the clean air quality. The paper categorically reviews the technology strategies for toxic and odor removal, their characterizations and future potential for exploration, a step forward by paints and coating community to preserve the clean air quality, the vital gift of mother naturel.
