Cuirs et peaux de moutonsIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The physical properties of wooly sheepskins pertinent to continuous centrifuging are reviewed and investigated. The requirements of water removal for subsequent application of a wool-removing depilatory paint and the requirements of a continuous centrifuging machine are given. The design, construction, and operation of a "paddle-gated" machine are described and the reasons for its failure outlined. It is considered that any system employing sliding gates or seals is likely to be unsuccessful because of jamming by wool or skin. Note de contenu : - Removal of water from wooly sheepskins

Cuirs et peaux de moutonsIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Part I is a background study of the problem and also describes the operation of a "paddle-gated" machine which was not successful. This part describes the principle, operation, and performance of a successful continuous centrifuge that has a definite hold time for the article being dried. There are no gates or moving parts that could cause jamming, the skins can arrive at random intervals of time, no operator is required, and the machine has no components needing precise or frequent adjustment. Note de contenu : - Principle of operation of an "eccentric spiral system"
- Design and construction of an "eccentric system"
- Operation of the eccentric spiral machine
