Tannage Résumé : Carboxylated collagen fibre (CCF) was prepared using glyoxylic acid modified collagen fibre which was extracted from fresh pigskin, the prepared CCF was used as an adsorbent to treat trivalent chromium ions (Cr(III)) in wastewater (Cr-CCF). Alkali-enzyme hydrolysis was used to extract collagen protein from the CCF after the adsorption of Cr(III) to obtain chromium-containing collagen hydrolyzate (Cr-CCH). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and gel permeation chromatography (GPC) were employed to analyse the structure and relative molecular mass distribution of the collagen in Cr-CCH. The Cr(III) content was determined by diphenylcarbazide spectrophotometry. The optimal hydrolysis conditions were optimised by single factor experiments with the collagen extraction rate as the index. Finally, sheep and sturgeon wet-blue was chosen to evaluate the retanning efficiency of Cru-CCH. The satisfactory sensory and mechanical properties of the finished leather demonstrated that Cr-CCH could become a good candidate as a retanning agent, which not only satisfied performance requirements for finished leather, but also achieved recycling of resources. Technique des plasmasIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Chrome is a serious pollutant in the environment due to its toxicity and the low utilization inchrome tanning. To study the effect of low temperature plasma (LTP) on the absorption of chrome in tanning process, oxygen plasma was used to modify pickled skin. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to observe the surface morphology changes of wet-blue leather due to LTP treatment. The analysis by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) showed that the oxygen content of the pickled skin and the chromium content of the tanned leather increased remarkably. White hide powder (collagen fibre mimic) was modified by LTP and it was shown that the amount of carboxyl and carbonyl groups on the fibre surface increased significantly. The increase in oxygen-containing groups such as carboxyl, carbonyl, thus increased the content of combined chrome. Therefore, LTP will provide a new exploratory method for high-exhaustion chrome tanning technology. As this is a new applcation opportunities are limited due to the lack of suitable industrial equipment which will need to be developed. The new application is allied to that described in 'Study of unhairing with LTP4 which was presented at the 7th Asian Conference of Leather Science and Technology. Nanotubes de carbone à parois multiplesUn nanotube de carbone multifeuillet est constitué de plusieurs feuillets de graphènes enroulés les uns autour des autres. Il existe deux modèles pour décrire la structure des nanotubes multifeuillets :
- le modèle poupée russe: les plans de graphène sont arrangés en cylindres concentriques ;
- le modèle parchemin: un seul feuillet de graphène est enroulé sur lui-même, comme une feuille de papier.

Réticulation (polymérisation)Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT-COOH) were prepared by treating multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) with concentrated sulfuric acid (H,SO4) and concentrated nitric acid (HNO3) at a volume ratio of 3:1. Afterwards, taking MWCNT-COOH as the modified materials and aziridine (AZ) as the cross-linking agents were added to polyether-based waterborne polyurethane (WPU) thus preparing waterborne polyurethane modified by cross-linking of aziridine/carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (AZ-MWCNT-COOH-WPU) emulsion and films. The latter was applied to the surface treatment of natural leather and synthetic leather and other coating materials. The effects of different AZ contents on the water resistance and mechanical properties of AZ-MWCNT-COOH-WPU films were analysed and are discussed. The synthesised product was characterised by FTIR, XRD, SEM and other detection methods. The results showed that AZ successfully grafted MWCNT-COOH to the molecular chain of WPU and, when the content of AZ increased, the tensile strength of AZ-MWCNT-COOH-WPU film increased, firstly from 14.8MPa to 21.8MPa and then decreased to 12.1MPa. Elongation at break decreased from 570.2% to 198.4%, the water absorption decreased from 108.9% to 2.4% thus the water resistance was enhanced. The surface composition and morphology of the prepared cGO‐incorporated hollow fibre membranes were characterised by means of Fourier Transform–infrared spectra and scanning electron microscopy. The effects of different cGO contents on membrane surface hydrophilicity, separation performance, anti‐compaction and adsorption properties were investigated through measurements of the water contact angle, cross‐flow filtration and methylene blue (MB) adsorption experiments. The results demonstrated that the cGO‐incorporated membranes had more hydrophilic surfaces, higher permeation flux, better anti‐compaction properties and a higher adsorption rate of MB than that of the PSF control membrane. When cGO content was 0.45 wt.%, the pure water flux of the modified membrane increased from 90.56 to 148.26 l m−2 h−1 at 0.1 MPa; also, rejections of bovine serum albumin and polyethylene glycol (PEG‐20000) maintained relatively high values of 98.81 and 93.89%, respectively. The incorporation of cGO nanosheets could effectively improve membrane anti‐compaction properties and the adsorption rate of MB.

Teinture -- Fibres textilesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : In this study, polyamino carboxylic acids have been used to improve the dyeability of cotton in a salt-free reactive dyeing process. These polyamino carboxylic acids were prepared by partial carboxylation of polyvinylamine. Cotton fabric was pretreated with polyamino carboxylic acids and dyed with reactive dyes. The colour strengths of the dyed fabrics were evaluated by measuring the K/S values. The fastness properties (washing, rubbing and light fastness) of the dyed cotton fabrics were also measured. The pretreatment of cotton with polyamino carboxylic acids creates positive charges on the fabric surface. In this way, salt-free reactive dyeing of cotton or dyeing with only a small amount of electrolyte is possible.
