Post-press productivity is improved by the immediate drying of UV inks. Press behaviour, however, now needs to be improved. Laboratory comparisons of commercial UV sheet-fed inks with conventional sheet-fed inks have highlighted significant differences. Ink properties such as rheology, tack, misting, colour strength, ink-water balance and cure speed were examined.
