Résumé : |
The fundamental objectives behind the project were to rationalise the management system and to modernise the dyeing facilities. Three key topics: people, process, and equipment were studied. People: The abilities of each individual in various subjects were assessed with respect to technical ability, team working, and communication skills. Training was then implemented, where necessary, to ensure a competent close working team was formed. Process: Processes were scrutinised, new approaches were taken up with regards to robustness and simplification. This constituted the need for increased research and development and process monitoring in bulk production. Equipment: This involved assessing different types and constructions of dyeing vessels, determining the correct quality of process water and assessing computer colour match prediction systems. It also meant sourcing a control system capable of controlling chemical additions (including water) along with vessel operation which provides historical data manipulation. From the completed project the building of a new dyeing facility was implemented. This involved 18 new wooden dyeing drums complete with recirculation, filtration and automatic drain valves. In addition, all pumpable chemicals including water are automatically added by computer control. Filtering and softening the process water supply has also been completed. As a result of this modernization, the following improvements have been seen: reduced labour costs, greater consistency, refined processes, reduced production costs, increased production efficiencies and reduced environmental impact. |
