In either case, users had to accept noticeable drawbacks. End-fused optical fiber bundles, on the other hand, finally allow to use the full capacity of the light source. Note de contenu : -Large area UV curing has so far only been possible by accepting compromises
- End-fused fiber bundles combine the strengths of conventional optical fibers
- Fig. 1 : Bundles of optical fibers are a common way to apply surface UV irradiation
- Fig. 2 : Glued fiber bundles always have "blind" spots. As a result, depending on the bundling method, between 25 and 50 percent of the transferred light is lost
- Fig. 3 : In bundles of end-fused fibers, all fiber gaps are omitted, since the fibers convert into a hexagonal shape during the course of the fusion
- Fig. 4 : The full light capacity is not fully transferred only in the jacket areas of the individual fibers - visible here as darker spots on the surface. That disadvantage can be minimized, however, through skillful selection of the core-mantle ratio
- Fig. 5 : In order to ensure a homogeneous radiation intensity, only the input ends of the fiber are initially fused and irradiated with UV-light during bundle production. Based on the light emission at the fiber output ends, the fibers are then manually arranged in such a way that uniformly strong radiation is guaranteed across the entire focal surface
- Fig. 6 : For use with applications that require parallel point radiation, only the fiber inputs are fused, while the outputs are fanned out according to application requirementsEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1m5sKOl5Vg8urnlMgVTOp6TxMml6OTfPS/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=34254
