However, current standardized mildew tests fail to reproduce these results. Therefore, CL measurements were applied to different automotive coatings to evaluate their degradation behavior during artificial weathering. In this work, CL measurements were carried out for different automotive coatings to follow their degradation behavior during artificial weathering. The CL emission depends on sample-specific parameters like stabilizer, matrix, or hardener; experimental parameters like the oxygen partial pressure; and exposure parameters like the duration of weathering. The potential of CL could be demonstrated by classifying materials into categories of good, medium, and low degradation performance at a much earlier stage of weathering exposure than in combination with the usual visual detection of weathering effects. Titre : To be always glossy Titre original : Changing of scratch and mar resistance by natural and artificial weathering Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : U. Schulz, Auteur ; V. Wachtendorf, Auteur ; T. Klimmasch, Auteur ; P. Alers, Auteur Année de publication : 2001 Article en page(s) : p. 60-71 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Scratch and mar performance of automotive topcoats has become an increasing customer concern in recent years. The consumer expects that the coating of the car he bought does not lose its good appearance due to degradation of the scratch and mar resistance after only a short time period in service. Therefore, this paper focuses firstly, on the influence of weathering on the scratch and mar resistance and secondly, on changes in the visibility of the scratches under the influence of the weather. Examining a series of modern PU clearcoats natural and artificial weathering was applied before and after the scratch test. Scratching was carried out using two different scratch techniques. In comparison to other essential coating properties the scratch and mar resistance was the property that was most detrimentally affected by the weathering. Note de contenu : - Results of weathering before scratching (pre-weathering)
- The higher the hardness the lower the scratch and mar resistance
- Results of weathering after scratching(post-weathering)
- The ability to reflow get lost increasingly with increasing duration of pre-weathering
- Interaction of scratches and acid deposition during post-weathering
- Correlation between the results of artificial and natural weatheringEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kwn_T0C0TZIHNsz4isPOXn86pC1P6Fvx/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10944
