Coton Le coton est une fibre végétale qui entoure les graines des cotonniers "véritables"(Gossypium sp.), un arbuste de la famille des Malvacées. Cette fibre est généralement transformée en fil qui est tissé pour fabriquer des tissus. Le coton est la plus importante des fibres naturelles produites dans le monde. Depuis le XIXe siècle, il constitue, grâce aux progrès de l'industrialisation et de l'agronomie, la première fibre textile du monde (près de la moitié de la consommation mondiale de fibres textiles). Résumé : |
The recycling of textile waste i.e. pre/post-consumer textile waste (PCW) is a need of the hour. Upcycling textile products often involves the use of chemical and mechanical recycling. The market acceptance of yarns and products made from mechanically recycled PCW is a major concern because of the products harsh touch and feel, low quality parameters, and poor appearance due to its high short fiber content. There is a wealth of research and review papers available on PCW fiber in blends with cotton and polyester fiber. Continual R&D at TRADC (Textile Research and Application Development Center, Birla Cellulose) serves to enhance the quality parameters of mechanically recycled PCW blended yarn. This research paper reports on the sustainable MMCF (man-made cellulosic fiber) lyocell fiber (Birla Excel) blended with PCW fiber. A study was conducted on the effectivity of fiber length distribution and fiber fineness on yarn quality parameters, lyocell fiber and PCW blended (70:30) ratio. |
