Résumé : |
Synthetic dyes are not eco-friendly and are very hazardous to the environment, but these herbal dyes are ecofriendly and free of many types of sensitivity, allergies and environmental hazards. The present study was carried out the first time to dye the goat skin with aqueous extracts of Mangifera indica, Syzygium cumini & Eucalyptus camaldulensis. Four different types of mordants CuSO4, FeSO4, KMnO4 and Potash Alum were used to fix the dye to leather, to facilitate the take-up quality of the leather and to improve color and light-fastness. These mordant gives different shades to the leather. Fastness properties of dye were studied by different techniques i.e. washing, heating, sunlight and rubbing. Result wasevaluated by using grey scale. Results of fastness properties in all case were very excellent. Mangifera indica, Syzygium cumini & Eucalyptus camaldulensis gave different colors with four different mordants. Different colors and shades obtained from natural dyes were so light and soft. |
