RhéologieIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Polyurethane/polyacrylate emulsions (SDPUA) with high solid content were obtained by using carboxyl groups and sulfonate groups as hydrophilic chain-extenders and internal emulsifiers through surfactant-free emulsion polymerization. Polyurethane/polyacrylate emulsions with ethylene diamine (EDA) as chain-extender (EDPUA) were also prepared. The influence of the different 2,4-diamino-benzenesulfonic acid sodium salt (DABS) content on the properties of the SDPUA products was investigated. The main properties of EDPUA were also discussed compared with the SDPUA samples. Dynamic light scattering results showed that when DABS/DMPA molar ratios increased from 1/4.7 to 1/2.28, the particle size increased from 72.2 to 99.7 nm. The particle size of EDPUA emulsion was larger. The steady rheological measurements illustrated that the viscosity decreased with the shear rate increase and the emulsions were displayed as pseudoplastic behavior. Attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared results demonstrated the SDPUA products were successfully prepared. As the function of DABS groups, the thermal stability was enhanced. With the increment in DABS/DMPA molar ratio, the contact angles on SDPUA membranes decreased, and the surface free energies increased. The T-peel strength increased to 88.2 N/mm and DABS/DMPA molar ratio increased to 1/2.28, and it was larger than the EDPUA samples. The compatibility of the dual phases was enhanced. Temps de séchageIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A novel waterborne curing agent (SWCA) is obtained by the reaction of isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), poly(propylene glycol) (PPG) and pentaerythritol (PE). Different quantities of SWCA were added to a waterborne polyurethane (WPU) to form a SWCA-modified WPU emulsion (SWPU). The structure of SWCA is characterised by attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy. The effect of SWCA content on the initial tack, peel strength, solvent resistance and curing time are illustrated by T-peel strength, solvent resistance and curing time tests. The rheological properties of SWPU were assessed. The absorption peak at 2263 cm-1 in the ATR-FTIR spectra shows that -NCO groups exist in SWCA. While the content of the curing agent increased from 0% to 4%, the initial strength increased from 1.82 N/mm to 3.87 N/mm; the final peel strength increased from 5.02 N/mm to 7.08 N/mm; and the water and ethanol absorption rate decreased from 11.3% to 6.14% and 15.38% to 11.52%, respectively. The curing time of the SWPU adhesives decreased with increasing curing temperature. The rheological test shows the SWPU emulsion exhibits elastic behaviour. RevêtementsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The effect of film formation temperature on the internal structure of self-organised films of fluoroacrylate/polyacrylate emulsions is described. Six fluorinated polyacrylate emulsions bearing varying fluorinated monomers were prepared and blended with the same polyacrylate emulsion. The blends were dried at 30°C, 45°C and 60°C. The minimum film formation temperature (MFFT) was tested by the MFFT-BAR-60 model instrument. The surface properties and morphologies of the blends on both the film-air (F.-A) and the film-glass (F-G) interfaces were characterised by contact angle, particle size distribution and scanning electron microscopy. The elemental composition and structure of films across the section were analysed by scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDX) and X-rayphotoelectron spectra (XPS) analysis.
