The lightweight and corrosion-resistant materials were initially used in the form of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymers (C-FRP) to strengthen and reinforce steel, concrete and timber structures. However, the construction of components or entire structures made of C-FRP is too expensive, which is why the trend is towards more cost-effective Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymers (G-FRP). MesureIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Glued-in rods represent a joint type commonly used in timber engineering when high strength, rigid, and aesthetic connections are looked for. While there is extensive research on glued-in rods in softwood, there is still a lack of research on hardwood. Due to climate change and expected reorganisation in the structure of forests, it is to be assumed, that significantly more hardwoods will be used in the construction industry.
