Résumé : |
The meltblown process was developed 70 years ago by petrochemical company ExxonMobil Chemical Co., Houston, TX/USA. Nevertheless, there is still no common understanding among experts as to how the very fine filament diameters in the range of a few micrometers (pm) are produced. The existing air velocities in the subsonic range are in any case not sufficient to explain the filament velocities of up to several km/s that are necessary to achieve such fine filaments. This paper will present a new approach that Fiber-To-Go is pursuing. It is already known that there must be a "post-stretching". However, the cause of this phenomenon has not yet been clarified. The authors assume a high-frequency oscillation of the filaments caused by the merging of the 2 air streams at the nozzle tip during the "Exxon-process". |
