Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In this paper, the dry heat resistance of hide and leather is studied by means of thermal platform microscope. Such factors as drying, tanning, types of tanning agents and tannage degree that may affect the dry heat resistance of hide and leather are included. Changes and mechanisms of samples when dry heated are analyzed and discussed. We use KCrSO4, CrCl3, Cr(NO3)3 and Sugar reduced chrome liquor as tanning agents to study tanning effects on the dry heat resistance of hide fiber. It can be found that chrome tanning may reduce the initial shrinkage temperature, and increase the final shrinkage temperature. It is to say that chrome tanning may broaden the shrinkage range of hide fiber. Dry heat resistance of hide fibers with different degrees of tanning is also studied. Shrinkage ratio of hide fiber tanned with KCrSO4 decreases with increasing KCrSO4 concentration in the tanning liquors. Hide fiber tanned with sugar -reduced chrome liquor posseses the best dry heat resistance in all the four kinds of tanned hide fiber samples studied.
Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Organisms - Inoculum preparation - Anti-bacterial activity - Anti-fungal activity - Fractional inhibitory concentration (FIC) determination - Microbial challenge tests - Emulsion preparation - Particle size measurement

Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In this paper, samples of un-tanned cattlehide collagen fibers, chrome tanned cattlehide collagen fibers, and glutaraldehyde tanned cattlehide collagen fibers are prepared and preliminary studies of their thermal degradation behavior completed. The methods of both Flynn-Wall-Ozawa and SatavaŠesták, which have been being widely and successfully used in the study of thermal degradation kinetics of synthetic polymers, are used to process the data obtained from thermo-gravimetric analysis of the three samples at different heating rates. The results obtained indicate that the thermal degradation activation energy of un-tanned cattlehide collagen fibers is 130-160 kJ/mol. After tanning with chrome, it can reach 225-255 kJ/mol. However, in the case of a sample tanned with glutaraldehyde, its thermal degradation activation energy is only 120-163 kJ/mol, very close to the value of un-tanned cattlehide collagen fibers. The results suggest that the crosslink bonds between collagen molecules formed in the chrome tanning process are much more stable at high temperature than those formed in the glutaraldehyde tanning process. Studies of their thermal degradation behaviors are completed, and the factors affecting their thermal degradation behaviors are discussed. Both methods of Flynn-Wall-Ozawa and Šatava-Šesták are applied in the study of thermal degradation kinetics of these samples. The results indicate that, after being soaked in sweat for 15 days, the thermal degradation activation energies of all samples change in different degrees. Sweat-soaking process affects the thermal degradation activation energy of chrome tanned cattlehide collagen fibers the most obviously, and the chrome tanned sample is the worst in sweat resistance in the three samples studied here. The interaction between sweat and different modified cattlehide collagen fibers are discussed.
