Ussman, Auteur ; Agusti Marsal, Auteur Année de publication : 2007 Article en page(s) : p. 43-51 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The effect of stretching treatments on the balance between plasticity and elasticity of leather has been studied. Four different tanned and fatliquored bovine leathers were subjected to stretching treatments completely immersed in water. Variables of stretching were a) water temperatures between 60 and 80ºC, b) stretching ratios between 1.20 and 1.40 and c) stretching time between 10 and 20 min. Thickness and apparent density were measured. Variations in plasticity-elasticity balance induced by the stretching treatments were assessed subjecting the samples at two cycle loading-unloading test measuring the elongation induced by the maximum load in the first cycle, the Immediate Elastic Recovery, Delayed Recovery, Permanent Set and the Bedding-in Work Factor. Stretching favours the bedding-in and setting of the network of collagen fibres, increases the elasticity and decreases the plasticity of leather. When subjected to cyclic loading, straining induces additional bedding-in effect on the network of collagen fibres. Leather straining and their immediate elastic recovery and permanent set mainly depend on the applied load while delayed recovery and bedding-in is more dependent on the leather structure than on the load applied. Titre : On the recovery of natural fat and non ionic surfactant from sheepskin degreasing Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Agusti Marsal, Auteur ; Albert M. Manich, Auteur ; M. de Castellar, Auteur ; Jaime Cot, Auteur Année de publication : 1998 Article en page(s) : p. 207-214 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Woolskins with high natural fat content are subjected to the degreasing process. When this is carried out with non ionic surfactant in aqueous medium, a highly polluting emulsion consisting of salt, water, natural fat and non ionic surfactant is obtained. In order to reduce the contamination load, and a sludge or "fat paste" made up of water, salt, natural fat and non ionic surfactant are obtained sparately. Given the constitution of this "fat paste", no use has been found up to now. The aim of this work is to separate the natural fat from the surfactant which are present in the "fat paste". A first extraction with n-Hexane:ethyl ether (40:10) of silicia impregnated with the "fat paste", allows the total recovery of skin natural fat which is slightly contaminated by a small amount of surfactant. A successive extraction of the silica with methanol allows the surfactant (nonylphenol with 8 M EtO) to be totally recovered. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Starting material - Spearation precedure - Regeneration of used silica gel - Analysis of the extracts
- RESULTS AND DISCUSSION : Determination of salt and water in the "fat paste" (optional) - "Fat paste"/silica gel ratio - Extraction of natural fat - Extraction of non ionic surfactant - Regeneration of used silica gel - Infrared spectrophotometryEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YwVK7QODIE84Ns8LmiHaDlBAxSTuXzNW/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4501

Titre : Use of liposomes as auxiliary products in hide dyeing process Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Agusti Marsal, Auteur ; Jaime Cot, Auteur ; M. de Castellar, Auteur ; Albert M. Manich, Auteur Année de publication : 2002 Article en page(s) : p. 23-33 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Américain (ame) Résumé : Reduced dye penetration constitutes a problem in the dyeing process of thick hides. Liposomes have been successfully used as auxiliary products in wool dyeing as well as in sheepskin dyeing giving rise to dyeings of highlevelness and very soft leathers. In this work, the possible application of some liposomes as auxiliary products in the dyeing process of 2 mm hides has been studied. The effect of the liposome use on dye penetration, on dyeing levelness and on dye exhaustion has been compared with the influence exerted by other commercially available chemicals such as: a chemical based on a sodium salt of a condensed naphthalenesulfonic acid and a chemical based on an ethoxylated fatty amine. Two pro-liposome formulations, from different supplier, containing soybean phospholipids were considered. Some parameters were improved by the use of liposome formulations when compared with the results obtained with the other chemicals considered.
