Résumé : |
Across the world, there has been a strong shift towards sustainability. The emergence of various legislation focused on sustainability across the world, the inclusion of a dedicated goal by the UN around sustainability to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns, are amongst a few highlighting this shift.
One of the studies conducted by EU Commission on top 10 marine litter items found on European beaches highlighted the presence of around 8.1 % of wet wipes and around 1.4% of feminine hygiene products which are essentially some of the major products made by the nonwovens value chain. As these products are increasingly coming under scanner, there is a strong need to find sustainable alternatives and that too in a cost-effective way to ensure greater consumer acceptance. |
