Energy prices are on a steady rise and have become a significant factor regarding competitiveness in business. More and more brands and customers are asking for green production and improved environmental KPIs (key performance indicators). The sun is almost an unlimited energy source, which is never increasing in price and does not pollute the air, nor does it have a negative influence on our climate, as solar energy is a CO2 emission free technology.
The sun offers a thousand times more energy to the world than we could ever consume. In countries where we normally find an energy and water intensive industry, such as the leather or textile industries, the sun could be saving an equivalent of 150 to 200 litres of fuel oil per square metre - continuously, reliably every year. The questionis, how can we use the sun to support the energy demands of a tannery and how to integrate it into the existing hot water or power system ? |
