Now let us turn our attention to a very important topic which is being ignored by nnost of the paint manufacturers. How long does a Paint in can actually last ? In other words what is the shelf life of an Acrylic Emulsion Paint ? Various reasons are attributed to this. Many consumers complain that when they bought a can of paint and on opening at the time of application they found it foul smel I ing, in the can. Some say that when the can was kept in an open condition or not properly covered, the paint gets spoiled or it is rendered useless and cannot be used for application. It is a very important property of a Paint in can and there could be various reasons for the Paint to get spoiled. In the foregoing few chapters we will critically examine this aspect and understand this problem and also look for suitable measures to avoid paints getting spoiled at the time of man ufacturing or post manufacturing. |
