In this work the possibilities of wetlaid-spunlace wipes containing Lenzing Lyocell short cut fibers that meet the requirements of high-performance nonwovens as well as of quick disintegrating or dispersing wet wipes respectively will be displayed. |

- Fig. 1 : Blends for moist toi let tissue (MU) fabric with wood pulp and cellulosic fibers at different contents. Blends containing lower amounts of Lenzing Lyocell short cut than competitor viscose short cut always show higher tensile strengths in wet state
- Fig. 2 : Blends of 60 g/m2 fabrics containing 20% of 1.4 dtex Lenzing Lyocell short cut fibers show adjustable tensile strengths in a high range by varying the fiber cut length
- Fig. 3 : Extended portfolio of Lenzing Lyocell short cut fibers showing the new development of 1.15 dtex fibers. Model moist toilet tissues of 60 g/m2 containing 20% Lenzing Lyocell shortcut and 80% wood pulp, processed in the same way, show versatile tensile strengths depending on the titer chosen and achieve disintegration requirements already after 30 min
- Fig. 4 : Example of different flushable wipes of different basis weight containing 20% of 1.15 dtex 10 mm Lenzing Lyocell short cut fibers and 80% wood pulp. Variation of spunlace energy gives another opportunity to adjust the wet tensile strength
