Tanins végétauxIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : The short-term (5 day) and long-term (30 day) biodegradation behaviours of black wattle, bayberry, valonia and chestnut tannin extracts were systematically investigated in this paper. The results indicated that all of these four vegetable tannin extracts are biodegradable although they might retard the biodegradation process to some extent owing to the inhibitory effect of tannins on the activated sludge process. Short-term biodegradabilities of the four tannin extracts were concentration-dependent. These tannin extracts could be effectively biodegraded in 5 days at concentrations of 0.25g/L, but the biodegradation process was retarded remarkably when the concentrations were increased to 5.00g/L. In general, short-term biodegradabilities of the four tannin extracts follow the sequence of valonia tannin>chestnut tannin>bayberry tannin>wattle tannin, implying that the hydrolysable tannins are easier to biodegrade than the condensed tannins. The results of long-term biodegradation showed that all of the four vegetable tannin extracts can be completely biodegraded by prolonging the activated sludge process, even if they are present at high concentration. Therefore, the encouraging findings in this research suggest that vegetable tannin extracts are environmentally friendly leather chemicals.
(Wikipedia)

Simulation combined Latin hypercube sampling approach was used to research the effects of different process parameters on deformation. Then, random forest regression (RFR) is used to construct the mathematical relationship between process parameters and defects, such as warpage and volume shrinkage. The gaussian process is used as probabilistic surrogate model, while the probability of improvement is used as acquisition function to construct a Bayesian optimization for RFR’s hyperparameters, and the performance of random search is compared. In addition, the gradient boosting regression (GBR) and support vector regression (SVR) were also adopted to establish the prediction models, respectively. Comparing all the above prediction models, it can be found that the Bayesian optimized random forest regression (BO-RFR) has the highest accuracy. The Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm-II (NSGA-II) is interfaced with the predictive models to find the optimum design parameters for the purpose of effectively predicting and controlling warpage and volume shrinkage. The results show that warpage is reduced by 66.03% while volume shrinkage is 46.20% after optimizing. The final finite element simulation and physical tests indicate that this proposed method can effectively achieve the multi-objective optimization of injection molding. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : The one-bath dyeing of blends of polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) staple and wool has been investigated. The exhaustion of selected Terasil disperse dyes on PTT fibre and Lanasol reactive dyes on wool was measured as a function of temperature, together with the cross-staining of the Terasil dyes on the wool component and the Lanasol dyes on PTT component. Most Terasil disperse dyes achieved satisfactory dye uptake on PTT at 110 °C, whereas on conventional polyester (polyethylene terephthalate) temperatures of up to 130 °C are required. An optimised union-dyeing technique for wool/PTT blends was developed which minimised the staining of Terasil disperse dyes on wool and produced dyed goods with high levels of wet colour fastness. Carriers were not required to enhance the dyeability of PTT at low temperatures. The wool component appeared to be protected against damage at 110 °C by the reactive dyes. The results indicate the potential for blending PTT fibre and wool to produce fabrics that are easier to dye at lower temperatures than conventional wool/polyester blends.

Revêtement métalliqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The present study reports a simple, highly effective, and safe two-step electroless deposition process for rapidly fabricating superhydrophobic Ag coatings on steel substrates. The steel plates were first immersed in the 1 mol/L aqueous CuSO4 solution for 20 s, and then immersed in the 0.03 mol/L aqueous AgNO3 solution containing 1 wt% fluoroalkylsilane (FAS) for 2 min. The sample surfaces were characterized by energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry (FTIR), x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, step profiler, and optical contact angle measurements. The results show that, after the two-step electroless deposition process, the Ag coatings composed of the binary micro/nanometer-scale rough structures containing the FAS molecules with a low surface energy are formed on the steel surfaces. The as-prepared Ag coatings exhibit a good superhydrophobicity with a 163.4 ± 1.8° water contact angle and 1.5 ± 0.5° rolling angle.
