SiliconesLes silicones, ou polysiloxanes, sont des composés inorganiques formés d'une chaine silicium-oxygène (...-Si-O-Si-O-Si-O-...) sur laquelle des groupes se fixent, sur les atomes de silicium. Certains groupes organiques peuvent être utilisés pour relier entre elles plusieurs de ces chaines (...-Si-O-...). Le type le plus courant est le poly(diméthylsiloxane) linéaire ou PDMS. Le second groupe en importance de matériaux en silicone est celui des résines de silicone, formées par des oligosiloxanes ramifiés ou en forme de cage (wiki).

Vibrations (mécanique)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Coatings prevent offshore VIV damage - Shallow-water production platforms in the Gulf of Mexico actually stand on legs reaching to the seafloor, where they are secured by piles into the seabed. The riser piping is usually near the center of the structure and is held rigidly by its own strength and by the surrounding fixed leg structure. Deepwater structures can be actuel floating platforms and are held exactly in place by anchors or other methods. The riser pipe string may be the only solid direct connection between the seafloor and the floating production platform. Movement of the platform from wave action or tidal forces is compensated by flexible joint connections in the riser string. But when the rigid support of legs on the seafloor is removed and the length of the riser string increases for structures in deep water, a new insidious force comes into play —VIV, or vortex-induced vibrations, which can crack joints in the riser string or rupture the riser pipe itself, causing a potentially disastrous oil spill. Very high costs, limited space, poor working conditions and the constant threat of delays from bad weather all conspire against getting a project done exactly according to specification, SSPC-PA 2 and best painting practice. But because of the severity of the environment, minor shortcuts that might not even be noticed long-term in an onshore mild environment project can wreak havoc on an offshore structure. Système de pulvérisation (technologie)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Both problems involved different valves for use in the structure that were supplied by a single global valve manufacturer to be installed on the same offshore structure for the same owner with the same paint spec and supplier, but each resulted in an entirely different failure.
A large valve company that manufactures valves in locations around the world had been selected to supply all of the valves for a new offshore production platform. The valve company claimed that QA/QC procedures were identical at all of its shops worldwide and that valves could be supplied to fabricators from the nearest valve facility without any difference in the quality of the coating system.
Assuring that the same coating system and the same levels of quality for surface preparation and coating application are obtained for components manufactured in nearby or faraway places requires cooperation from the structure owner, their specifier, the selected coating supplier and the far-flung manufacturers of the components and units to be assembled into a single production structure.
Early on in the new construction of subassemblies of the offshore platform (nothing was in service yet), groups of valves left the valve manufacturer’s shops, supposedly after the valve manufacturer shop’s QA professional had inspected them and certified in writing that they met the owner’s spec.
When the shipments of valves arrived at the sub unit and the unit fabricator’s yard, the inspector there checked them before they were incorporated into use.Note de contenu : - FIGURES : 1.
