These conventional steam power plants do not require the use of fossil fuels but can, if required, also be operated as hybrid systems. The solar power plant technology developed by the company Novatec BioSol AG is based on the principle of Fresnel collectors, and the use of adhesive bonding is a vital part of their manufacturing process. In order to find out which material combinations are best suited for this demanding task, a number of tests were carried out, and these are described in the following. Note de contenu : - The principle of Fresnel collector technology
- The adhesive bonding problem
- Durability tests
- First results
- FIGURES : 1. The world map of solar irradiation shows the potential locations of solar thermal power plants - 2. Electricity generated by solar thermal power plants worldwide is expected to increase by 50% a year up to 2050 - 3. Technical comparison between different solar thermal power plant concepts - 4. Functional principle of Fresnel collector technology - 5. Water is vaporised in a closed circuit - 6. The receiver has the task of converting as much of the solar energy it receives as possible into thermal energy - 7.
