Résumé : |
The optimization of injection molding processes by using software to simulate mold filling and solidification is standard today. However, this has its limits, especially if the material properties or the flow behavior are not known with sufficient accuracy. The services offered by Beaumont, such as material testing, injection molding tests or the optimization of flow channel systems, can help here. |
Note de contenu : |
- Limits of simulation
- Material characterization for moldflow material cards
- Material behavior under real injection molding conditions
- Multi-cavity tools without balance
- Availability and target groups
- Fig. 1 : Beaumont's test laboratory in Erie has numerous systems at its disposal for determining the material data of polymers
- Fig. 2 : The determination of the CRIS data allows significantly better predictions of the real shrinkage behavior. In each test, defined parameter sets (process settings) are varied
- Fig. 3 : Influence of wall thickness on real pressure and flow velocity curves for HDPE. The pressure is normalized to the flow length
- Fig. 4 Therma-flo enables the user to make the righe decision despite inconsistent viscosity data measured by different methods
- Fig. 5. An asymmetrical distribution of melt properties over the cross-section of the flow channel is obtained at intersections of the runner system
- Fig. 6 : Type and number of branches can lead to significant differences in the properties of the polymer melt and thus in the filling behavior of multiple cavities |
