Résumé : |
Calcium carbonate is a natural ingredient that can be incorporated into toothpaste, offering multiple options to influence the characteristics of a formulation. Besides cleaning and remineralization, particles affect texture, viscosity and mouthfeel. Swiss company Omya has developed a proprietary technology to produce a new generation of functionalized calcium carbonate particles. THe anhanced minerals offer advanced characteristics, such as whitening, and also help repair surface lesions. This article gives a short overview of the structure, effects and benefits of the particles, as well as recommendations for the formulation of toothpastes. |
