Résumé : |
Currently, extensive investigations are being performed at the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology (ITM) to gain profound insight into the yarn formation process based on planed metal staple fibers. For this purpose, the special properties of these fibers such as high abrasiveness, high brittleness and high rigidity, in addition to their strong high tendencies for plastic deformation and stick-slip motions are considered. The developed process chain based on the conventional yarn formation process consists of stretch breaking, drafting, and spinning of 100% metal spun yarns from planed metal staple fibers. According to the current developmental state, functionality of the yarn formation process from 100% planed metal staple fibers is regarded as proven. Thus, a high potential of utilizing these fibers for high-performance and cost-efficient technical applications clearly exists. |
