Fibres de carbone -- Industrie et commerceIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : This article provides an overview of the carbon fiber industry. Activities of established and new producers as well as activities of research institutes are presented. Based on the article "The carbon fiber market: an overview over the present situation" [1] from 2010, newest developments will be shown. Source materials for carbon fibers are polyacrylonitrile (PAN), pitch and cellulose. The focus of this article is on PAN-based carbon fibers. Nearly 100% of commercially available carbon fibers are based on PAN.

Textiles et tissus -- IndustrieIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Today, Industry 4.0 is already making its mark at many companies across the globe - and is here to stay. The age of digitalization has also arrived in the textile sector - manifesting itself in the production of customized apparel within a mere few hours in micro-factories or in the form of cost-optimized, self-controlled production based on networked systems and data analysis. At the same time, there are challenges that are slowing down the advent of digitalization - data protection and data security being just 2 of these. Note de contenu : - Revolution or evolution ?

VêtementsIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : There is an urgent need to find replacements for the predominantly fossil-based fibers in the fashion industry through solutions such as biosynthetics from renewable sources. PHA polymers represent an exciting, yet challenging solution for reducing carbon emissions in the fashion industry. Textiles et tissus synthétiques -- Propriétés thermiques
ViscoseIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Polypropylene (PP) is widely known for its poor thermal characteristics. Many attempts have been made to improve its thermal behavior. In this study, PP filament yarns were blended with viscose filament yarns using an air-jet texturing machine. The blended yarns of PP and viscose were con¬verted into fabrics and the fabrics thermal resistance and flame-resistance characteristics were studied. It was found that the thermal conductivity of PP can be improved by blending it with viscose yarn. Thermal resistance of PP can be improved by having viscose sheath and PP core yam. Flame-resis¬tance of PP also can be marginally improved by blending it with viscose fila¬ment yarn Note de contenu : - SCOPE OF STUDIES
