Tensile behavior and crimp characteristics of textured yarn mainly depend on draw ratio and temperature of the heaters provided on draw-texturing machine. There, 2 heated rollers operate at different speed; the speed ratio of output to input roller termed as draw ratio. 3 different levels of draw ratio and temperature were set on a draw-texturing machine, filament produced and yarns where both tested. Polyester partially oriented yarn (POY) (non-intermingled) of 136/36 was processed on a Himson ATH 12 F/V draw-texturing machine to manufacture samples with 3 different draw ratios and changed primary heater temperatures. Other parameters like speed of 900 m/min, traverse speed, oiler roller speed etc. were kept the same. |
