Teinture à froidIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The behaviour of the various dyestuff classes in cold dyeing without float has been examined in detail. Tests showed that the dyeing properties of various leather dyestuffs and the levelness of the dyeings can be distinctly improved by liquor-free operation at room temperature. The possible relationship between the chemical structure of the dyestuff molecule and the dyeing behaviour of the dyestuff in cold dyeing without float is discussed, and a few variants of this procedure that may be of interest to the leather dyer and finisher are described. Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The collagen thermal transitions of bovine chrome leather were studied by thermomechanical analysis (TMA). The application of dynamical stresses under transverse compressive penetration and longitudinal extension modes allows us to determine the glass-transition temperature of collagen in conditioned and dried states and the denaturation temperature in dried state of collagen. The results agree with those obtained by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetry (TGA). The thermal transitions determined by TMA in transverse compressive penetration mode showed a good relationship with the origin and final application of leather.
(Wikipedia)

Peau -- Maladies chez les animauxIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Forty-eight local breed goats were bought from the village markets in and around Sebeta. These were divided into three groups of 16. Two of these groups, Group I and II, were infected artificially by using infected skin scraping taken from naturally infected goats and pasting it to the wither of the experimental goats using gauze and masking tape. Group III was kept as uninfected control. Six weeks later the goats in Group I and III were treated with 60% Diazinon while Group II was kept untreated. About three months later, two of the treated and all of the untreated goats died of the disease. Those that died showed loss of body weight and poor skin quality while most of the treated goats had increased body weight gain and better skin quality.

Cuirs et peaux -- AnalyseIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In this paper, volatile low molecular weight aldehydes and ketones in samples of leather shoes were collected by static absorption with water, analyzed and detected by 2,4dinitrophenylhydrazine pre-column derivatization of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Firstly, the sampling temperature and lime of the volatile aldehyde and ketone in leather shoes were optimized and then the volatile aldehyde and ketone in absorption liquid were determined. The experiment result shows that the optimal temperature is 45°C, the sampling time is 24 hours. The collected sample was derivatized by purified sulfuric acid acidulated 2,4dinitrophenylhydrazine. The volatile aldehydes and ketones in absorption liquid of leather shoes were formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acetone propionaldehyde, butyraldehyde, benzaIdehycle, cyclohexanone and hexanal the average concentrations of which are : 0.252mg/shoe, 0.061mg/shoe, 0.079mg/shoe, 0.053mg/shoe, 0.037mg/shoe, 0.011mg/shoe, 0.09mg/shoe, 0.018mgishoe respectively. This method is suitable for determination of volatile aldehydes and ketones in leather shoes.
