Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The presented work describes a method of utilizing collagen hydroysate obtained through enzymatic hydrolysis of chrome-tanned shavings for preparing biodegradable films. Films were prepared by casting from a solution of collagen hydrolysate with added plasticizer (glycerol) and cross-linking agent (starch dialdehyde). Films thus prepared were subjected of thermal annealing at 60, 70, 80 and 90°C for 24 hours. Thermal annealing is a mode of physical cross-linking of film solubility. Solubility curves are important for applying biodegradable films in industrial practice. Thermal annealing was found to affect the crosslinking degree of prepared film in significant manner, hence, also, its solubility. Results indicate that collagen hydrolysate, following certain modification by plasticizer and crosslinking agent is capable of producing films whose properties may by additionally modified. Résumé: It has been shown that iron complex and many copper complex dyes are readily decomposed by sequestrants. In addition, iron complex dyes are readily decomposed by cupric ions. Hue changes occur on dye decomposition and these can give rise to unlevelness and colour variation in dyeing. Certain combinations of iron and copper complex dyes are unstable in aqueous solution at 60°C and this can result in pack to pack colour variation. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : An aldehyde-acid copolymer/MMT nano-composite [P(MAA-AL)/MMT nano-composite] was prepared via monomer in-situ polymerization. Then the nano-composite was applied in a leather tanning process and the leather structure was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The reaction mechanism between P(MAA-AL)/MMT nano-composite and collagen fibres was investigated. P(MAA-AL)/MMT nano-composite has excellent dispersing properties for collagen fibres.
The tanning mechanism of P(MAA-AL)/MMT nano-composite is that, the carboxyl groups of nano-composite are combined with the amino-groups of collagen side chains by electrovalent bonds and the aldehyde groups of nano-composite are linked with the amino groups of collagen side chains by covalent bonds.
The reactivities of the active groups of polymer can be improved by incorporating nano-particles. The tanning fucntion of P(MAA-AL)/MMT nano-composite is the combined result of nano-particles and polymer. In the combined tanning process of P(MAA-AL)/MMT nano-composite with a chrome tanning agent, theP(MAA-AL)/MMT nano-composite is firstly united with collagen as above. Then the carboxyl groups of the P(MAA-AL)/MMT nano-composite enter the chrome complex and coordinate with chrome. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The proteolytic effect of liming and bating on wet salted hide to be made into upperleather has been investigated by varying the concentration of NaS in liming, i.e. 2 and 4 %, and two types of bate (3A and 5A each) at two cncentrations, i.e. 1-5 and 3 %.
The 2 % Na2S concentration in liming was combined with each concentration of both bates 3A and 5A. The same combinations with the 4 % Na2S concentration were also used, so that, effectively, eight batches were carried out.
Hydroxyproline determination by spectrophotometry was used to calculate collagen in the hide in the raw state, after liming and after bating. The mean mass of collagen was found to reduce progressively from raw to bated condition in all batches ; the batch to batch difference was not very marked. Visual and tactile examination between the Na2S concentrations, showed pelt from the 4 % Na2S treatment to be more plump and slippery.
Between the bate types and various concentrations, there was not much visual difference. Shrinkage temperature (Ts) values were higher in the raw pelt, declined slightly after liming and increased after bating. Some concerns have been expressed in recent years regarding possible negative interaction between organic microbicides, and protease hydrolyzing enzymes which could lead to deactivation of the enzyme.
Buckman's research and development laboratories in Memphis, TN undertook a study of the interactions between select microbicides and protease based enzymatic preparations to determine the relationshpi between these additives when used in the same float. Siw commercial protease enzymes were assayed in vitro alone and in the presence of four selected industrial microbicides. MIcrobicides were tested at 300-600 ppm. The protease assay (55C, pH 7.8) utilized the water-insoluble substrate Azocoll (an azo dye-impregnated collagen).
