Résumé : |
Increasing environmental pressure are forcing the coating industry to minimize the release of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and result in continuous shift in solvent based coatings to waterborne coatings. At present waterborne organic coatings have been widely employed as building coating and wood paint while this application as anticorrosive coatings for metal is still limited. Reduction in volatile organic compound and CO2 has been achieved by high solid coatings, powder coatings, and waterborne coatings.
Traditional paints consist of hydrophobic polymer dissolved in hydrocarbon. They are appreciated for their rheological properties and smooth and glossy film form upon drying and cross linking but now are banned because of hazards associated with solvent in terms of health waterborne paints based on colloidal resin dispersion are an improvement waterborne coatings has some problems but it is most preferable because of compatibility of conventional coating systems.
In this review, brief synopses recent development of waterborne coating for automotive industries with concept including UV curable waterborne coating & waterdispersible polyurethane pellets. |
