PolyuréthanesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : For heavy duty corrosion protection of structures in classes C3 to C5-A4 environment, polyurethane systems are time tested products for thin layer top coats. They are lightfast, weather resistant and resistant to pollutants etc. However for superior durability of the coatings, correct formulations and ingredients selections are equally important. Urethanes are the reaction products of isocyanates with materials that have hydroxyl groups. They contain a significant number of urethane groups regardless of what the test of the molecule may be. The modem industrial development of urethane polymers started from the pioneer work of Professor Otto Bayer in Germany in 1937.
The current article explains die exterior durability of aliphatic isocyanate based polyurethane coating. The gloss retention, color stability and other important aspects have been explained in details.Note de contenu : - TYPE OF POLYURETHANE COATINGS

Impact of human's activities on environment and industrialization etc. are creating hazards on human being, environment and on wild life. In global perspective regulatory bodies, environmentalists and social workers are increasingly advocating requirements to reduce and/or eliminate the use of materials having potential negative impact on the environment or on human health. Though in India regulations are still long way to go in the coating industry, the technological changes are being experienced after the regulations are being enforced and compliance are required. The technological changes in recent past have positively contributed to a sustainable green environment.
In this article, we have analyzed the chronological changes in the regulations related to coating industry and its impact on technological changes, innovation and alternative options from applications and formulation perspective.Note de contenu : - Coating composition and Hazard
