Résumé : |
In summary, using the example of MIT, it is clear that the next five years will be a time of great change for paints and coatings formulators and raw material suppliers in the highly regulated European market. For those who want to be both ecolabel compliant and avoid the H317 label under the CLP legislation, the choice of actives will be severely limited and the cost to treat will increase.
Looking at other active substances that are still under evaluation in the BPR review programme, the choice of biocidal ingredients to replace MIT will be even trickier considering the future of most actives is still uncertain.
Dow has some novel actives, such as DTBMA or MBIT that could bring innovative sustainable solutions when used in combination with other actives. |
