Résumé : |
In the automotive industry, gearbox parts have traditionally been shot peened in compressed air blasting machines. However, a French car manufacturer is now using a shot peening machine in which the shot is accelerated using blast wheels. The results include a 30 percent energy saving and a 50 percent increase in blasting capacity. |

- Easy maintenance increases availability
- FIGURES : 1. The wheel blast machine designed for shot peening gearbox shafts in the automotive industry has led to a 30 percent energy saving and a 50 percent increase in blasting capacity when compared with compressed air blasting machines - 2. The two high-performance blast wheel are arranged horizontally in the blasting chamber which allows two components to be shot peened simultaneously - 3. The wheel blast machine is equipped with 16 satellites that hold the components. It provides the specified throughput of 240 parts per hour |
