Résumé : |
Hydroentanglement is one of the standard entanglement processes for non-wovens. Despite its undeniable advantages in production speed or related to special product properties (touch, softness, etc.), there is one significant downside : its huge energy consumption. In total, the energy consumption for hydroentangled nonwovens is typically in the range of 1.2-2.5 kWh/kg only for the entanglement part of the production line. While liber costs still dominate the total costs of the product, the energy costs of hydroentanglement cause 40-50% of all other costs of such a production line (energy, depreciation, loan costs, maintenance etc.) and add up to, depending on product € 1.5-2.5 million/year for a nonwovens line with a 2,000 kg/h production. Thus a reduction of these energy costs leads to a significant reduction of the production costs of hydroentangled nonwovens. |
