Résumé : |
Structural constructions, where steel finds wide applications, are exposed to environmental contaminations. These unwanted dirt deposition on structural materials change aesthetics of the product and its functionalities. Cleaning is usually recommended ton maintain desired appearance, which is time consuming and costly. The present work describe an easyway to formulate self-cleaning hybrid coatings, which are design to improve or even reduce the cleaning step, and explore their potential applications on metallic substrates The coating was formulated by incorporating natase TiO2 nanoparticles into silane based resins. While the morphological analysis was performed by SEM (scanning electron microscope) technique, the photocatalytic activity was checked by evaluating the oxidation ability to destroy ethanol under UV (ultra violet) light exposure and contact angle measurements were performed to determine the hydrophilic nature of the coatings. |
