Résumé : |
- The SPF number is more than 25 years old and International methods used to measure it are now very similar.
- There are still some differences in test methods that may lead to SPF variability if not properly taken into account.
- In Europe the COLIPA SPF Test method should always be the method of choice as it remains the most strictly defined method.
- There are several pieces of national and European legislation which sunscreen manufacturers must comply with, some of which are very vague in their requirements.
- With adequate care and reasonable scientific and technical knowledge, we should all be able to label SPF numbers with confidence. |
