Résumé : |
Coatings for consumer products such as mobile phones are being modified to provide tactile and optical properties.
Consumer taste, fashion, and design are the driving forces behind the modification of optical properties of coatings. Especially in Asia the market for plastic coatings is a fast growing and important market for coatings. Coatings for plastic substrates are typically modified to provide tactile and optical properties. For plastic parts or electronics such as mobile phones, consumer preferences for surface structure and texture is growing, that trend also is being observed in Chinese and south east asian market. Based on requests from paint producers also out of the asian market, the potential for designing additives for that purpose was analysed, and products for water-borne and solvent-borne coatings for plastics subsequently developed. |
