The ITMA 2015 was organized by MP Expositions Pte. Ltd., Singapore, and took place from November 12-19, 2015 in Milan/Italy. Since 1951 the ITMA has been the most established textile and garment machinery exhibition in the world. The main focus of the exhibition in 2015 was improving existing machines, devices and processes towards flexibility, resource saving and sustainability. For the first time in ITMA history, an ITMA Sustainable Innovation Award was launched by the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers (CEMATEX), Brussels/Belgium. Sustainability is a major concern for global businesses involved in the textile and garment making Chain. The award aims to encourage and recognize outstanding industry members and students for their contributions to the sustainable development of the global textile and garment industry. The ITMA 2015 exhibition itself grew about 25% in point of exhibitors compared to 2011. More than 1,694 international participating exhibitors from 46 countries were present. This article gives a short insight into the new innovations of renowned machine manufacturers in the field of cabling, twisting and texturing. |
