Taille des particulesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Using natural dyes rather than synthetic dyes is an option that can be pursued to achieve sustainability in leather dyeing. The main disadvantage of natural dyeing is poor wet and dry rub fastness and the requirements of metal mordants for fixing. In this work, onion peel waste is the chosen raw material to produce natural dye for leather dyeing without metal mordant. Adding commercial syntans and vegetable tannins with the onion peel dye in the post tanning process produces good quality dyed leather without using any mordants. The optimal particle size of eco-friendly onion peel dye was extracted from onion peel (Allium cepa) using a modified aqueous extraction method. The extracted dye was examined by various instrumental techniques to characterize the functional groups by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), optical properties by UV-VIS spectrophotometry, size by Malvern Instruments, and thermal stability by Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). The results express the suitability for application in the leather dyeing process. vision des couleursIndex. décimale : 535.6 Couleur Résumé : This paper addresses the way in which the random selection of different sets of samples influences the values of two colour-rendering indices analogous to the ones proposed by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE Publ. 13.3, 1995), Ra, and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES Technical Memorandum TM-30-15, 2015), Rf. We report results found for 11 light sources, representative of current indoor and outdoor lighting, using a database with 12 123 spectral reflectance factors from real objects. For these 11 light sources, the differences between official Ra and Rf values and those computed using 100 iterations with 6000 random samples from our database proved to be in the range [?13, 2] and [?15, ?1], respectively, the highest differences corresponding to sources with narrow peaks in their spectral power distributions. For 100 random subsets of 10 samples from our database, the average standard deviations of the 11 light sources for indices analogous to Ra and Rf were 8 and 5 (or 2 and 1 using 110 samples) respectively. The standard deviations in computed Ra and Rf values, using subsets with different numbers of samples n, can be modelled as inversely proportional to the square root of n. We propose a method to estimate these standard deviations for n = 6000 using reduced sets of 10 spectral reflectance factors. CotonLe coton est une fibre végétale qui entoure les graines des cotonniers "véritables"(Gossypium sp.), un arbuste de la famille des Malvacées. Cette fibre est généralement transformée en fil qui est tissé pour fabriquer des tissus. Le coton est la plus importante des fibres naturelles produites dans le monde. Plasma à pression atmosphériqueUn plasma à pression atmosphérique (ou plasma à PA ou plasma froid) est le nom donné à une catégorie spéciale de plasma pour lequel la pression approche celle de l’atmosphère.
Le plasma à pression atmosphérique marque une nette différence avec le plasma basse et haute pression. En effet, contrairement à ces derniers aucune enceinte de traitement n'est nécessaire. Ce type de plasma peut donc être utilisé directement sur ligne de production, évitant ainsi l'utilisation de vide qui est extrêmement onéreuse.

TricotIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : The aim of this study was to investigate the decolorisation effect of atmospheric pressure plasma treatment on knitted fabrics dyed with reactive dyes under different processing parameters, ie, air concentration, treatment duration and water content. The fabrics were dyed with reactive dye of a blue colour, and the colour depths were 0.5%, 1.5% and 3.0% on weight of fabric. The colour properties of untreated and plasma‐treated fabric samples were evaluated by means of reflectance, K/S and relative unlevelness index. The colour properties were evaluated instrumentally and quantitatively in order to study the decolorisation effect induced by atmospheric pressure plasma treatment. Experimental results revealed that the desired decolorisation effect was heavily influenced by the atmospheric pressure plasma treatment processing parameters. Although the desired decolorisation effect could be obtained by controlling the processing parameters of the atmospheric pressure plasma treatment, the treatment did not provide any significant reduction in the bursting strength of the fabric.
