Résumé : |
Transition metal pro-oxidants formula for degradable polyester has been successfully developed and is applicable for nonwovens sheets production. With the masterbatch concept and technology, manufacturers interested in degradable products can simply introduce the degradable masterbatch into their existing production process. The approach is cost effective since no additional equipment and investment are involved. The estimated extra expense of the degradable nonwovens production is mainly from the pro-oxidants, and it is anticipated that the total cost will only increase 3-5%, while the market price of degradable products could be around 10-300% higher than the traditional ones. However, by using this technology, functional advantages of synthetic fibers such as high wear resistance and low moisture absorption properties could also be maintained, the disposable and degradable synthetic fibers can be applied to manufacture of disposable health and medical products such as hairnet, mask, isolation gown etc. It could also be extended to produce other degradable nonwovens materials such as filters which have specific expiration dates and need to be replaced periodically. |
