Powder coating systems have been developed to provide scratch modified and super durable coatings that maintain gloss levels following stringent testing.
The definition of scratch resistance according to DIN describes the resistance of paint films under defined conditions towards point-like, linear or two-dimensional loads. Checking the quality of the adhesion of paints is a special metrological challenge, that's why a large number of specific procedures exist in the audit practice. To determine the scratch resistance, the standards DIN EN ISO 1518 parts 1 & 2 and DIN EN ISO 12137 are particularly suitable. |
