| Résumé : |
• Hygiene coatings provide a means of minimising the growth of micro-organisms in critical areas such as food manufacturing plants, pharmaceutical manufacturing, hospitals, and leisure facilities.
• They differ from conventional "quick kill" biocidal paints in that long-term biocidal efficiency must be maintained with minimal leaching of biocide even if regular steam cleaning is employed.
• The coatings must provide a seamless surface which will resist movement of the substrate. Application is therefore a multi-stage process involving the use of biocidal washes, sealers and primers to ensure good adhesion and freedom from initial contamination.
• The method of neutralising micro-organisms must not allow resistance to develop ; however, legislative requirements restrict the range of biocides which can be employed. |
