Résumé : |
Corrosion in concrete and/or embedded steel is primarily due to the penetration of moisture, chlorides, air relative humidity and the microstructure of concrete also influence the corrosion. Temperature, To mitigate corrosion the penetration of these should be arrested. pH at or above 12.5 form a protective film on the steel surface which are normally available with the freshly made concrete surrounding the steel. Here concrete acts as powerful anodic inhibitor ; in addition to this concrete also impede the normal cathodic reaction by blocking the oxygen to reach to the embedded steel. But this level of alkalinity does not remain for longer period. In view of this various remedial measures are taken to protect concrete from corrosion. |
