The moisture regain, tensile properties, and both morphological and aggregation structure of hollow viscose fiber and 3 other conventional regenerated cellulose fibers, i.e. conventional viscose fiber, modal and lyocell were tested and compared. The results show that the moisture regain of the hollow viscose fiber is 12.38%. The dry and wet breaking tenacities are 2.54 cN/dtex and 1.62 cN/dtex, while the breaking elongations in dry and wet are 14.49% and 16.67% respectively. The results of surface morphology and cross-section tested by SEM show that the hollow section obviously exists in the hollow viscose fiber and the surface morphology is the same with the conventional viscose fiber. Finally, crystallinity of the hollow viscose fiber is 31.73% tested by XRD, and the FTIR spectra of the fiber exhibits the characteristic of cellulose II, similar with the other 3 tested fibers. |
