Résumé : |
Fragrance is one of the most important aspects of personal care products, providing a huge degree of sensory input and in many cases creating the clearest point of differenciation between one product and its competitors. But as with many other areas of the industry, fragrances have been affected by the "free-from" trend, creating additional hurdles for formulators. However, there are also plenty of opportunities to use innovative, multifunctional ingredients that offer natural scent without issues of sensitisation. Formulating with fragrances can be problematic, and that is why there are several ingredients here to help make the task easier. Other issues include being able to mask the unwanted odours of other ingredients used as part of the formulation. This is just a small sample of the ingredients out there to help you formulate with fragrances. Personal Care will be keeping a close eye on the Fragrance Zone at in-cosmetics this year in Barcelona, and will report back in June issue. |
