For conductive thick-film inks the active ingredients that determine the electrical properties are metal or metal-alloy particles. The organic vehicle, whose primary function is to establish the proper rheology for the ink, is usually a high molecular polymer dissolved in a solvent.
The ideal ink should have the correct degree of both pseudoplasticity and thixotroplay ie, the viscosity of the ink should alter during screen printing process. Many studies have been made of the relationship between the printing line resolution and the rheologies of thick-film inks. The screen printing aptitude of inks is influenced by their rheological properties, which can be controlled by selection of the organic vehicle. Little information about the effects of inorganic particles has been published. The purpose of this paper is to study the effects of the characteristics on the screen printing aptitude of thick film inks.Note de contenu : - Particle size and rheology
