Nowadays, the demands of the market, as well as the restrictions due to the ecological considerations, are more and more rigorous. Thus, all of the properties of a given product must comply with such requirements and regulations. Among possible methods for achieving an appropriate level of quality for the product, for example certain clear coats, are those of experimental design and modelling. The quality of a clear coat, measured on the basis of its properties is determined by the composition of raw materials and variables of the production process. These methods enable a simulation of the behaviour of the system, for selected variables, on the basis of the typical points and the proper model. According to DIN 53162, for the paint applied on a black and white substrate, the contrast ratio must be equal to 0.98. This means that a difference of about two percent between the value of colour on a black Yb and on a white Yw can be tolerated. Note de contenu : - Kubelka-Munk theory
